so, so cute. i've actually wanted the two cups at the top for so long... i don't know why i haven't just gotten them, they're only $6! i seriously love the typography on both of them. (dear santa... ;)) i love the paint splatters on the cup in the third photo, and the last ones have a very western feel. love love love.

i'm not the biggest fan of country music... but i absolutely adore mr. & mrs. cash. they really had something incredibly special about them, didn't they? you can tell just by watching them sing that they had a very, very deep love for each other. the great thing about their music, and any of johnny's solo music, is that it goes beyond the country genre -- spanning into bluegrass, folk, and rock 'n roll. they had, they still have, a universal fan base that really reaches all genres and all types of people. despite trials and hardships in their lives, not only did they always have immense respect and gratefulness for each other, but they were always crazy in love. their love story, even through tough times, was certainly beautiful. here's a little video of the two performing jackson. (random fact: june was born on june 23rd - the same birthday as me! it's so silly how excited that makes me... but it's an honour to share a birthday with such an amazing woman!)

ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, Johnny and June are seriously the best thing ever.
lovely post! my dad met johnny cash in the 60's, and mr. cash dedicated a song to him in a concert. my dad was at military training outside of nashville and snuck into the grand ole opry while cash was having rehearsal. security tried to kick him out, but cash intervened. they talked for a while, then he invited my dad back to the concert. my dad was only 18. i'm pretty sure, of all the crazy adventures my dad has had, that was his favorite.
