I love writing. Whether it's a blog post, a letter to a friend, a random story or script idea, or just writing my thoughts out... sometimes it feels so good to write it all out and empty my brain. I write in a journal and have notebooks for ideas, but it's also nice to just type.

Here's the thing, though... I get distracted. Real distracted. By emails, Twitter, Pinterest, pretty blogs, you name it. My attention span is all over the place, and in order to truly get all of my thoughts, feelings, and ideas out - I need peace and quiet. No distractions.

My best friend is the raddest person ever (hi Nae!) - and she recently showed me OmmWriter. I love it. It's really a very simple idea, but it makes a world of difference. It's a fullscreen environment that turns off desktop notifications/alerts so you can focus on writing.
